I was walking on the empty road and look around

starring at the scarlet sky
once I felt like seeing an angel
but then I realized you weren’t really there
you’d gone away

I was nearly sleeping under my blanket
you were there, sitting close to me
smiling and said, "Gud nite"
once I felt like being in heaven
but then I realized you weren’t really there
you’d faded away
died before you really meant
I was crying on the graveyard behind the old church
you are there, under the mute stones and cold mud
your sight’s empty and your smile’s frozen
once I felt like being in a nightmare
but I realize that you are really there
you left me
died before you say goodbye
